A proper town with loads to offer
Luton has a lot more going on than people give it credit for. The Arndale Centre is great for a browse and the market nearby is buzzing with sellers. Really enjoyed the mix of cultures and the food options are seriously good.
Wardown Park is a hidden treat
We spent a good chunk of our visit around Wardown Park and it was lovely. Green, well-kept and so relaxing. The museum inside is free which is a bonus. Great spot if you want a breather from the town centre. Locals were really welcoming too.
Good base and more interesting than I thought
Came here mostly to use the airport but stayed a couple of extra days to look around. The Hat District is a really cool area - loved the industrial feel and the creative spaces there. Picked up some great street food near the market. Solid visit overall.
Loved the multicultural food scene
If you're into food from around the world, Luton is genuinely brilliant. Bury Park Road is packed with South Asian restaurants and sweet shops. We tried a few different places and everything was delicious. Really good value too compared to London.
Decent shopping and easy to get around
The town centre is easy to navigate on foot and the Arndale has all the usual shops plus a good food court. Transport links are solid. It's a practical, no-fuss kind of town and I mean that in a good way. Enjoyed it more than expected.
Great weekend stop
Popped in for the weekend and really liked it. St George's Square in the town centre has a decent market scene and there are some good cafes close by. The people here are friendly and it feels like a real, lived-in place rather than just a tourist spot.
